Press release – Tumbleweed announces new pricing for cult-hit Skybound
1st of April 2009 – In light of Tumbleweed Interactive’s nomination in the Nordic Game Awards as best new talent, the founders have decided that their first game, Skybound, was not priced aggressively enough.
«Skybound has consistently gotten great review scores and even two nominations in different game award shows, and still we’re giving it away!» says Håvard Christensen, disgruntled iPhone developer at Tumbleweed Interactive.
Citing the controversy surrounding the low pricing on Appstore Apps, Tumbleweed has decided to change Skybound’s price, not just because of their fellow developer’s concerns, but also on the basis of them having a product with great value for the current price tag.
«We’ve discussed the new price point in-house, and it wasn’t easy to get everyone on the team to sign off on it. Luckily only two of our developers have access to itunes connect, and one of them is me.» says Kristoffer Jetmundsen, Managing Director at Tumbleweed Interactive.
«The new price will reflect the effort put into the development of Skybound, and we hope that consumers will understand that to be able to live off of game development you sometimes have to charge $999.99 for your game!»
