Umami article on Norwegian game site gamer.no
When we attended Gamescom in August, we hoped to meet some pleasant people there; and we did!
First off, let me tell you, Gamescom was ridiculously large. It was bigger in size than the main airport in Norway (Gardermoen). It was divided into two different sections. One for entertainment, which was open to public, had lots of booth babes, huge booths and boobs, in other words everything that might seem obnoxious, noisy, sweaty, cheesy and foul. And then there was the business section, which was much more comfortable.
We were in the business area with a stand at the Nordic pavilion. We had Umami on display, playable and all. It was the first time we took a build out in public like this, so we were very excited and a bit nervous about that. We had people come by our stand to have a look, and some gave it a try and had positive feedback. It was awesome that people enjoyed it, and the closer we get to release, the more reason people will have to like it ( what brings out the gold in games, really is in the polish).
Unfortunately, we had been a bit poor at contacting journalists before we went of to Germany, but we were very lucky to run into Mikael from Gamer.no, Norway’s leading online game site. He had some free slots on his schedule and was happy to allot them to us.
It is great talking to game journalists, because there’s a special bond between passionate indie developers and game journalists. We both love games with a passion, and we both care deeply about the future of the medium.

There are some more stories to be told from our visit to Gamescom, and they’ll appear in the blog soon.
